An algebra-based introductory course covering Newtonian mechanics, gravitation, and thermal physics. Emphasis on conceptual understanding of physical principles through group investigations and laboratory activities. Discussion/lab, five periods. Prerequisite: high school algebra and trigonometry or equivalent.
